Description: |
This funding program supports the operation of Tribal Historic Preservation Offices (THPOs) within allowable program areas described in the "Historic Preservation Fund Grants Manual." Where relevant, staff and projects must comply with the appropriate "Secretary of the Interior's Standards."The purposes of this program is to provide matching grants to Tribes for the identification, evaluation, and protection of historic properties by such means as compliance and review, survey, planning technical assistance, development, Federal tax incentives available for historic properties; expand the National Register of Historic Places and to assist Tribal communities in carrying out historic preservation activities. Awards under this program must comply with and support 54 USC 301 et seq. (commonly known as the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended). |
